Thousands of Mozambicans have fled northern Mozambique following an escalation of attacks that began in 2017. The latest, in Palma just weeks ago, has caused numerous fatalities and serious threat to life.
The three camps nearest to Montepuez hold 4,810 households (15,574 people) on site, which is only increasing. Our team on the ground can put together and deliver packs of supplies that provide essential basics for an extended family at a cost of just USD 85 per month.
The Foundation is working to urgently provide solar-powered lamps and basic supplies to 5,000 households across these 3 camps in Cabo Delgado.
4,000 solar lamps are already on their way thanks to generous donations, and the Foundation is now working to provide essential supplies such as food, mosquito nets and blankets and if funds allow, to drill boreholes to enable access to clean water (land surveys are currently underway to provide a cost for this aspect).
